Povidone idain 10% (betadine) is a combination of iodine and its carrier and exerts its antiseptic effect through the gradual release of mineral iodine in contact with the skin and mucous membranes. Povidone Iodine is a bactericidal and is also active against fungi, viruses, parasites and yeasts. This drug has a bactericidal effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.<\/p>\n

Its antiseptic effect is reduced by alkalis. Its antimicrobial properties are preserved even in the presence of blood, pus, mucus secretions and even soap and water. It has no desensitizing effect on the vagina and also does not stain the skin and natural fabrics.<\/p>\n

Uses of Povidone Iodine solution<\/h3>\n
